Project Description
The Terminal 3 East Improvements Project is a complete modernization of a 40-year old terminal to meet the needs of today’s modern traveler. This Project includes a state-of-the-art design that offers abundant natural daylight, sweeping views, unique lounge-like seating and waiting areas, hospitality-style passenger amenities, spa-like restrooms, and spectacular public art installations. Three new passenger gates, ticket counters, ticket offices, customer service centers, a global services reception area, tie-in to the baggage handling system, baggage services offices, and a United Club are all part of this $253 million improvements project. As the Prime Consultant, PGH Wong represented SFO serving as the overall project lead from the pre-programming phase through design, construction, testing, startup, and commissioning.
