Responsibilities
- Positions will be responsible for the conceptual, preliminary, and/or final design of railroad or rail transit fixed guideway facilities.
Knowledge of alignment, roadbed, utilities, drainage, and minor and major structures is needed to meet this responsibility.
- Positions will manage the routine development of civil engineering construction documents for building the designed facilities.
- Position will attend meetings with client and third parties as required to coordinate various design activities. Writing of reports will be
required in many cases.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited U.S. University.
- 2 Years experience in Engineering assignments on transportation projects. At least 40 % of experience must be in design engineering
for projects requiring plans and specification deliverables.
- Experience in Roadway Design and CADD software packages, including AutoDesk, Microstation, AutoCADD, MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point and Access),
cost estimating, and scheduling.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work in a cooperative team environment, including client staff personnel.
Desirable:
- Engineer in Training Certificate in California.
- Advanced degrees or additional relevant educational courses.
- Previous relevant experience in both design and construction engineering is a plus factor.
